ALUBUBBLE®

Alububble is a type of insulation material that consists of a layer of bubble wrap sandwiched between layers of reflective foil. Here are some of the purposes for which alububble is commonly used:

Manufacturing Process

This product is manufactured using a modern sophisticated continuous laminating process which consists of a layer of low density Polyethylene air cells laminated on both sides with aluminium foil or alternatively on one side with a white polyethylene layer which provides an aesthetically pleasing finish to the underside.

Alucushion® / Alububble® FR (Fire retardant grade) is manufactured by a continuous lamination process of low density polyethylene and aluminium foil with sealed bubbles of air between the two outer laminates.

How does it work?

Alucushion/Alububble® uses the thermos principal of providing a reflective barrier along with adjacent air space to keep the building cool in summer and warm in winter.
The thousands of individually celled air bubbles created during the manufacturing process, form a column of immobilised dry air, effectively countering heat loss through convection and conduction. Add to this the low emissivity and high reflectivity of the aluminium foil surface, and it’s advantages as a heat transfer barrier become obvious.
